Gateway85 Gwinnett is a Community Improvement District that plays a key role as the corridor between the city of Atlanta and its largest suburb in Gwinnett County.

CID LogoOur CID was formed in 2006 as Gwinnett Village CID and was initially started because local residents and business owners no longer felt safe in the area, with local property owners having difficulty convincing tenants that this community was a good place to do business in. In our 10+ year history, we have worked in collaboration with our partners in the Gwinnett County and Norcross Police Departments to develop crime reduction efforts that include adding extra police and security patrols in our district, and we have seen the fruits of our labor, with significant decreases since the district was formed.

While important, we know that the efforts to create a safe and healthy community doesn’t stop there. Over the years, we have also worked hard to make our community aesthetically pleasing by cleaning up graffiti, working with the Department of Transportation and other agencies to help improve roadways and commutes in our area, maintaining rights of way, landscaping and more in order to show those that live, work and do business in the area that there is an organization that cares about making our community better for all and wants to inspire a sense of pride for all that live, work and do business here.

In addition to our efforts to enhance security, improve transportation, redevelop the area and our beautification efforts, we take great pride in the vibrant cultural diversity that makes our community so unique. Around every corner you will find people from all across the globe that have chosen to live and work here, offering visitors and residents alike a wonderful opportunity to explore other cultures through food, shopping, festivals and a number of other experiences. We have truly become a global gateway not just in our community but also for the greater Atlanta area!

In 2017, we unveiled our new name and look for Gateway85 Gwinnett. Our new brand has been a stakeholder-engaged project from the beginning, because that’s what Gateway85 Gwinnett is about: community. We’ve held meetings, polled on social media, and brainstormed with our property owners, businesses,  developers, residents and others to determine WHAT makes Gateway85 Gwinnett special, and the answer is Community.

Nothing is possible without community. Community is the bond between us, our members, friends and businesses, and we take that bond seriously.

Community and connectivity are at the heart of what Gateway85 Gwinnett — this area is the connecting point of commerce to all points of the compass. Connectivity is also about people and we build relationships that last. We work personally with those who want to locate here to help their visions come true, not just because it’s our job, but because we believe that together we will become a better place to thrive.

It takes an amazing team to help make Gateway85 Gwinnett great!
