The impetus behind the Beaver Ruin Creek Trail Concept Study occurred when the idea of a trail was identified as a project in the Indian Trail Road Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) 10-Year Update. The project was very popular during the public engagement portion of the study, and it addresses both a transportation and a green space need in the area. In addition, the study will include a trailhead with the Norcross-to-Lilburn Multi-Use Trail that Gwinnett County is constructing (with funding from the CID) along Indian Trail-Lilburn Road.
The study is funded by the Atlanta Regional Commission, Gwinnett County Department of Transportation and the CID. During their September 13, 2018 board meeting, the Gateway85 CID board of directors approved the selection of Pond as the consultant who will work on the project.
