A Taste of the Coast at Juicy Crawfish

The diverse businesses in Gateway85 CID are the lifeblood of our community, and we aim to give back by spotlighting the vibrant and flavorful restaurants that make this area unique. This month, we’re highlighting Juicy Crawfish, a seafood restaurant located on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The CID team recently enjoyed a delicious lunch there, and I’m excited to share our experience with you.
The Location:
Juicy Crawfish is conveniently located if you’re heading west on Jimmy Carter Boulevard with plenty of free parking. If you’re coming from the east, either turn left on Norcross Tucker Road and take the lot adjacent to the Microtel by Wyndham or make a U-turn at Brook Hollow Parkway and turn right into the restaurant.
The Interior:
The interior of Juicy Crawfish is truly exceptional, transporting you from Norcross to a charming seaside diner. The wooden tables, benches and nautical décor create a warm and inviting atmosphere. One of the most distinctive features is the countless names and messages written in Sharpie on the walls and benches, giving the space its own unique character. When you visit, don’t forget to leave your mark!
The Food:
At Juicy Crawfish, there’s no shortage of options to “get your hands dirty.” You can dive into Blue Crab, Snow Crab, King Crab legs, shrimp, mussels, lobster tail, and, of course, its namesake – crawfish—all served with generous portions of corn and potatoes. These entrees come bib-ready, promising a deliciously messy dining experience. (P.S. At a nearby table, we spotted a couple feasting on what looked like crab legs, and I must admit, it made me a bit envious!)
For our visit, we chose the less messy but equally satisfying Family Special. This hearty platter included three large pieces of fried catfish, five jumbo shrimp, four chicken wings, and five fried oysters. To complement the feast, we added sides of sausage fried rice, fried scallops and calamari à la carte. Everything was delicious, but the standouts for me were the fried catfish and oysters. The seasoning on the catfish was exceptional, and the oysters disappeared within minutes—clearly a favorite at our table. The portions were generous, leaving us with plenty of leftovers—all for just under $75 before tip.
The Service:
The service at Juicy Crawfish was outstanding. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the attentive, friendly table service, the staff made us feel right at home. Our server was fantastic, offering great menu insights and recommending fan favorites. She checked in on us frequently, kept our drinks refreshed, and brought out our food quickly. We took our time and stayed for about an hour, but you can easily enjoy a 20–30-minute meal without feeling rushed. For a quicker option, there’s a separate take-out counter for to-go orders.
Juicy Crawfish combines excellent seafood, great service and a uniquely themed interior, making it a standout destination in Gateway85. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a casual lunch, this restaurant offers a memorable experience. Conveniently located just a mile west of I-85 on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, it’s a must-visit for locals and visitors alike. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Juicy Crawfish and look forward to returning soon!
